I have a e30 325i that i bought for 500 bucs.  Its in pretty good condition except the right rear body panel is a little smashed and a piece of the front bumper is pushed in and a couple of other things.  When i start it cold it idles perfectly but when its warm it idles really rough.  Ive cleaned out the icv with wd40 and it works for a little bit then the bad idle comes back. Also there is a slight knocking from the engine that goes away when i press the clutch in.  And the major thing is the transmission is clunky and it feels really sloppy.  Im thinking that i need new bushings?  Also when i shift into third it wont go straight in i push it half way in then wait a second and it will go all the way in and if i downshift to 3rd it will grind a little when going in.  and another annoying thing is sometimes it will pop out of 1st and make a loud grinding noise but ive figured out the feeling when its going to do that.    theres also a random plug with a stick on the end of it hanging down under the passenger side fog light that i cant figure out where its coming from.  but overall its a good car and its lowered so it handles a little better.. except for speedbumps haha

regarding rough idle on hot engine, it could be that your engine is overheating or experiencing vapor lock.

ohh noo it idles fine no matter it just takes about 1 minute or so until the idle smooths out. but if i start it when the engines cold it starts up and idles perfect but when the engine is warm it idles bad and smooths out after about a minute.. whats this vapor lock?
