Post 1st BMW Help Please

Hi im looking at BMW 318 around an 01 plate  but i dont know much about them
is it true the only difference between 316 and 318 is the the 316 is 8v?
what bhp does a 1.9 318i have? i read it was 105 but thought this was a bit low for such a big heavy boat.
is it worth getting a 1.9 or am i better trying to source a 2.0(this will be harder it seems)
any other information/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
the one im looking at is topaz blue Y Reg (01) with 41000 miles 318i SE from BMW dealership
Im from Scotland and the value is £8000 ( About $16000 )
Thanks Alot.
ps.. How easy is it to get the ECU mapped once warranty has experired and what improvements will i see?
Thanks Again

quite easy as long as you have the right diagnostic computer (GT1) that is very expensive.  Smile
