Post 2000 323i wagon out of gas now having misfires

I ran my 323i almost out of gas, but not completely.  Once I filled up it ran fine until the next time I shut it down which was about 45 miles of driving.  I went to Autozone and had the following codes:  p0302, p0304  whiich is #2,4 cylinder misfires, also had 2 identical codes of p1250.   i am wondering if the I can do a manual reset on the codes to clear them, or is that a dealer only issue?

you should solve the problem first before erasing the fault. anyway, does the engine pulsates or jerks for the reason that you needed to check for the fault code or did the engine warning light lits?

you need to check the fuel pressure, clean the injectors, check the ignition system.

the engine light and the pulsating both happened at the same time, it was after I drove the 45 miles and let the car sit for approx 3 hrs.  I put in STP gas treatment and 93 octane fuel.  I then drove the car to Autozone where they pulled the fault codes and reset.  Funny thing about that is once the reset the fault codes the battery went dead?  which has since recharged.  Once the car started the engine light cam on again.  my thought from my experience with out booard motors is it may have followed the plugs, I 99k on the engine with out new plugs.  Also the coils could ne replacing, but just very odd that the problems happened after the fuel level went below 0 miles on the computer.  I believe I will put new plugs in, clear the codes again, and then have the injection cleaned.  Those are all good routine maintanence items to perform, so if it does not clear the problem I will be going to the local dealer to have serviced, but that takes the challenge out of it.

to check if the ignition system is the cause, try swapping parts from where there is not a problem (cylinder 1 and 3) and read the fault codes again.

goodluck and update is all we need.
