320d missing rear fog light

Post 320d missing rear fog light

There is no rear fog light in the left hand unit in the tail gate( right hand drive car). I hate having only 1 rear fog, and if I cross the Channel where every one drives on the wrong side of the road I am, I suppose, illegal if I turn the rear fog on. The offending bulb holder has all the circuitry but no fitting for the fog light bulb, only the reversing light bulb. Is there an easily available replacement for the bulb holder that does have the fitting for a bulb or are all UK cars the same? Seems very cheap of BMW to do this. Even my Skoda Octavia, which also only had one of the two rear foglights working, had everything needed including the bulb, except the single wire to join left and right lights together. Would a left hand drive bulb holder solve the problem as my parts list shows the same part number for left and right hand drive cars, and so, presumably no bulb fitting? The bulb holders are handed so it's not just a question of using one from the other side.javascript:emoticon('confused')

As far as I can see the only wiring going into the bulb holder is for the reversing light, but installing the single missing wire would not be a problem. Not to me but will some control unit in the car object? The problem is that the sheet metal pressing in the bulb holder itself, that is the electrical circuit,  has not been made to accept a bulb. The plastic body is capable , but whereas the metalwork has been pressed out to form the place where the reversing lamp bulb fits, the place where the rear fog light bulb should go is just a disc of metal, and it appears the part for a left hand drive car(same part number)is the same, which seems odd.
