Hi everyone,
Im in Auckland New Zealand.I have a 1995 328i convertible which I am really pleased with.Have a problem with the roof though.It has a thin wafer like (plastic/rubber) skin between the outer roof and inner lining.This has started to break down.How important is this and what should I do as both outer roof and inner lining are in good condition.Any info would be really appreciated.

First off welcome friend. Second. This should be asked in the three series section. But..... if you are that worries about it find that plastic/rubber part in a junk yard. Take down the headliner and install the new stuff.

Thank you for your reply.Sorry I didnt realise should be in the series 3 section,can I change it over?Does that thin interlining play a very important part in the roof otherwise I will just leave it out,and maybe treat the roof with some kind of waterproofing eg silicone or whatever?

If i am thinking of what you are thinking of it serves as an insulator. Keeping heat in and water/moisture out. If you could snap a picture and post it on here it would help.
