had the windows tinted on my 07 black 335ci
specialist couldnt make the tint adhere to the top of the window
said the "bumps" from theb radio antenna prevented the tint from sticking

dont want to have 80% ofn the window tinted
the other 20% clear

any ideas
...or am I the only one who's ever experienced this problem

I think you should go to a different shop. I have seen many 335s with rear tint.

Im a BMW tech and i'll tell you form experiences with customers cars that if you tint your rear window 1) you stand the chance of whoever installes it to damage the grids on the rear glass and 2) the remote for your central locking wont work as well as it used to.
