Post '98 328i brake problem

Hey guys, I've recently just bought a BMW 328i and the lights for the brakes have gone on and I do not want to brg it to a mechanic for help. I've worked on jap  cars before (a little) but hte bmw is like a new species to me. I'm trying to replace the rear brake pads but when I took it off, there was a line connected to it. Is this removable? I took the pads off via removing the whole freakin caliper. I'm not sure if there's a special method I need to know about or whatnot and if I need to bleed the brakes afterwards.

Any help on removing and replacing hte brake pads on the back would be awesome. I literally sat there for an hour trying to figure it out and I just couldn't. After about another 30 minutes I realized the pads I bought from Advanced Auto Parts don't even match the brake pads I took out. All in all, I need them replaced, the pads are pretty worn. And the lights for the brakes is on.

THANK YOUUU

Yes. When I removedd the brake, there was an actual line attached to it. I don't know how to remove it. If your directions already said how to, then I didn't understand it, lol.

Thank you for your help, it has helped but I just have that line problem now.
