E38 740i DEADLOCKED!!!

I have a 1996 740i e38, the battery went flat locked me out,my local bmw specialist garage managed to open the boot and fit a new battery,they bypassed a circuit to open the windows and a laptop connected to the obd socket but they would not communicate. The doors are locked inside and out and the engine won't turn over let alone start. I can only get in through the windows, i have tried resetting the key both ways and by turning the key with handle halfway i've even done the disconnect the battery terminals and touch together for 30 secs still no joy. ANY ideas on how to cure this would be greatly wecome thanks.
