For the price of the fuel filter its worth the try no matter what. also when you open the hood on the right hand side there is a rubber intake boot that splits into two seperate hoses by the throttle. youll see both hoses make a sharp left before they hit the throttle body. the small hose is known to have a split in it when it starts to make that turn into the throttle. let the car run and put your hand on that hose and just shake the rubber boot to see if you can either hear and air leak or if the leak is big enough the car might even stall out. the rubber hose is id say the cirumference of a quarter. the large hose probably has about a 4 inch diameter. remember its the small one that usually splits but check both and let me know

If its not an airleak(which it sounds like it is) then get the codes read cause it could be a duff sensor and if so there will be a fault code stored on the ECU.You can change the fuel filter if you like-no harm in doing it
