Post BMW X5 2005 problem_urgent help needed

Hi everyone,

I have the BMW X5 2005 and i took it to the local mechanic to have a check diagnosis of any problems.
He installed his computer and plugged it in the socket below the steering wheel and told me a few problems
it has through his program.

After he finished the car wouldnt start and reported a program fault in the dashboard.
He gathered i had a low battery and he connected cables with another car to start it.
After it started the 4x4 sign was turned on which he resolved. But the most strange thing happened!
The monitor works fine but the radio,cd and tape options only work when the lights are turned on and
when the dashboard light is on full!

Please if anyone knows what the problem is tell and i have lost my sleep! I would appreciate any ideas!
