Post E 46 TOURING WING MIRROR REPLACEMENT

Hi ,

Recently had my wing mirror zapped by oncoming madman   rant  . Have replacement, but at a loss as to how to remove the old one. Would be useful to have a link to an exploded view of installation process. I assume I have to remove interior door panel etc, but a diagrammatical schematic could prove a real help Cool .

Cheers

Ardley

Remove front door trim panel

Trim is clipped into place at top and secured at bottom by a guide.

Removal of trim (1):

Unclip top clip (2) towards inside
Slide trim (1) towards top a little
Remove trim (1) towards inside

Unfasten plug connection (1).
Remove cable (2) from holder.
Press rubber grommet (3) outwards.
Release screws (4) and feed out mirror (5) with cable.

Hope this helps. This is for an E46 325i wagon

Managed to avoid complete housing replacement by removing smashed mirror, then installing new mirror motor and mirror.

Thanks
