First things first , check your coolant level in the expansion tank by the radiator.

If you have lost coolant check for leaks from the plastic thermostat housing on the front of the engine , radiator and coolant pipes .  Also was your anti freeze up to the cold we have been having  ! also is electric fan working !

Hope its not too bad and easy sorted.

Found the problem - leaking water pump.

You must continue to keep an eye on it over the next few days.  During the time when it was overheating you may have damaged a hose or some other peripheral component and then it will still leak even though you think you repaired it.  Most likely you will be fine though after replacing the water pump.

I agree with Illmanstill, you should check it a couple of days to make sure there was no further damage (hoses). Unfortunately for me,  a couple of months ago I came across the same problem and wasnt careful enough. I ended up replacing water pump, timing belt, heater hose and head gasket. Luckily I found an online store (qeautoparts.com) that gave me great prices on the items. Check their website if you still need to replace any parts, they also have live assistance so they'll pretty much assist you through your entire purchase! hope this helps, good luck
