E39 Automatic Transmission durability

Post E39 Automatic Transmission durability

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy an E39 530d with an automatic transmission, quite cheap. The catch is it has 270.000 km on the clock.
It has been regularly serviced and is in real good condition (the engine works like a clock and there is no leak etc). However,
the gearbox oil has not been changed as far as I can see and even if it were I'm a little worried about how many kilometers one
can expect to get out of the box -oil change done or not. Can anyone advise as to what is the approximate life expectancy of the
autobox on these cars? A transmission rebuild soon after buying the car is obviously not what I'm looking for!

Thanks a lot in advance.

Br,
Gabriel Nam
