Hey, i have a problem with a knocking noise in the rear of my 2000 318ci and just wondering has anybody experienced similar problems?
When i accelerate off and changing gears there is a loud 'clunk' coming from the rear.....
I left the car with a friend who is a mechanic and he called me today to show me that the rear suspension on the passenger side is pulling away from the chassis.
He worked for BMW previously and said he has seen the problem a few times, but only on the coupe. He said that at the time BMW covered the problem under  extended warranty because of a design fault!
Not sure if this is still the case as my car is now 10years old but i have left it into a main dealer to get their opinion.
I'm just wondering has anybody had this problem before...
