Hi

I have a BMW 530I Aut, from 2001. Sometimes - and only a few times -  when I have been stopping e.g. for red light and I want to start by pressing the accellerator smoothly, the engine dies! Since it is a aut. gearbox I don't have/get any chance to keep it alive. Procedure is then of course to put it in Neutral, presssing the Brake and then when it starts again, switch to drive.

It can also happen when I go into a roundabout then suddenly the engine dies!

Finally I can also add that I belive the engine has been a little bit more difficult to start.

I have had a stardard Borch tester on from my local Garage/workshop to see if there is any fault, but it doesn't show any. I have also replaced the gasoline filter, but the problems still occours from time to time.

Have anyone got an idea about what this can be caused by?
