Extra plug on back of radio?

Post Extra plug on back of radio? 

When i removed my bmw factory fit radio(it`s a phillips by the way) it had an extra conector pluged in to it,not sure if it`s a booster for the arieal but the new cd player and radio work fine without it,so whats it for?

It`s not the cd changer plug by the way
