 I need a cluster
Hi All,
My speedo just works when it wants to.. Is there a fool proof way to fix this?
Does anyone have a cluster for sale?
My car is a '87 325is..
I need to get this fixed or replace it..
Please help!
Thanks
Richard

You don't need a whole cluster. All you need is a speedo cable. You can try to fix it but taking out the cluster and putting a tiny amount of grease down inside the cable. Sometimes that fixes it.

Oh Blasted! Thanks for the info. I was actually just reading how to swap an electric tach from my 5K ETA to the 7K iS. How silly of me. Im gunna dig more and see if there is something like a sensor that can fix it.

most probably the internal mechanism of the cluster. it's better if you just remove it and check if everything still intact.

it is controlled electronically but still have gears to control the needle. i have seen a lot of this broken tiny gears and it's very difficult to find such part not unless you will fabricate it yourself.
good luck

would rather buy from a forum member than ebay.. It just feels better.. Some folks on ebay are not as honest as most forum members.
