I hope I am in the correct forum but maybe someone can help or give me some advice. I am in the middle of installing the ipod adapter kit,that I purchased from BMW dealer for my 2004 series 3 325i with no cd changer or nav system. This installation involves removing 3 wires from the radio wire harness. According to BMW it requires one of those special $95 dollor tools to remove the pins. I have read on the internet,that you can improvise a tool with about the same dimensions has the special tool [ 4.00mm id_4.25od] and they say it will work. I have down that. but the pins still will not come out. Is the BMW tool special in any way?    Thanks for any help. I do not want to spend $100 for a tool that may not work either. They will not take returns on tools.

you can fabricate your new tool and will always work as long as you did the right dimensions and looks like these...
