 My 525tds wont start!! Any idea's?????
OK, the car worked fine until yesterday morning. I went to start her up, but the heater plug light didn't go out, and the light next to it - which looks like an injector symbol stayed lit up. The car turns over very quickly, so I am guessing there is no fuel being pumped in, hence the lack of compression.There is plenty of fuel in the filter and I have checked all the relavent fuses. I'm stumped!! Can't afford a diagnostic test just yet - any help would be greatly appreciated! I love my BM and hope this isn't the end!

Its a 1994 model. I spoke to an engineer yesterday who suggested it could either be the fuel pump or possibly the ECU. I have had a look inside the ECU housing and it looks to be dry. Im about to undo one of the pipes from the top of an injector to see if fuel is getting that far, but I guess that wont tell me wheather it the pump or ECU?

Just taken a pipe off an injector and crancked the engine - no fuel sprayed out!!
So, where is the pump that pressurises the system? Remember, it's a diesel! The guy I spoke to said a new pump was 1200 quid!! surely he must mean the distributor pump?
I'm lost!

if there's something that confuses you regarding the information i gave just let me know.
you need to do a lot of things here but if you're not too confident with it just give this job to a seasoned BMW tech.
