hi all the car is a 1997 323i saloon,problem 1 is the rear d/s central locking motor doesnt operate the lock,and i need to know how to remove the thing.i had a look in the scrapyard today and saw how it was fixed to the door but when i tried to remove the thing from inside the door it seemed too big to go past other things inside the door for example the window guide rail.do i have to remove this rail? if so i presume that means removing the glass first?time was very limited so i didnt have time to investigate properly.
the other problem i have is the front window,while working perfectly i.e: going up and down properly the glass seems to move away from the frame slightly as it nears the top,resulting in the rubbers bieng squashed/pinched by the glass not fitting properly and therefore resulting in wind noise.if i grip the glass i can pull it back into the correct position, im hoping its just the white clips but if not and i have to replace the regulator etc do i need to replace the fixing rivits with rivits or can i use small selt tappers or something?and is there anything else to look out for?thanks
