BMW which equipped with automatic transmission M44 M52 / the BMW 3 series automobile, equipped with automatic transmission M52 / M52TU five series of BMW car and equipped with M44 / M52TU Z3 of automobile, sometimes it will happen that malfunctions indicator light on and TCM (transmission control module) with the fault code 111. 111 fault code shows that the torque converter clutch (TCC) is skidding so that TCC coil have no electricity or transmission box appears liquid leakage.
When diagnose this fault, first: check fluid transmission whether become black. If it is , transmission should be replaced or repaired. If no problem, engine should be closed ,and test  TCC coil. Then you can hear tick tick tick . If cannot hear that, change parts of the TCC coil to 218916 24 331. If you hear a sound, check serial number of transmission. If the serial number is 5215898 or lower part number, it should be installed for 24 January 27 423 new TCC 311 components. If the serial number higher than 5215898 and trip mileage more than 3200km, replace transmission. If trip mileage lower than 3200km , only need to change torque converter
