Post Noise from the front (description changed)

BMW Z3 2.8 1998

Just been told by my bro my previous description was shocking (apologies... i am a girl/ 22 years old / ...... and blonde)

right i have a noise coming from the front of the car, as soon as you turn the car on the fan is on (not the one right at the front but the smaller fan which is behind that one) I'm pretty sure thats not meant to come on straight away??? ...... could explain why its using more petrol than normal.....

Thats one noise, the second noise is coming from underneath the power steering oil reservoir, this is the noise which is increasing with my acceleration yet is still apparent when stationary and the car is running. To me it sounds like my engine is a whole lot noisier and when i turn sharply something grinds loudly sounds like metal on metal and i can feel it vibrating in the wheel!... not good?

Could really do with some opinions.... failing that... the garage and a large bill is the only option - which i'm trying to avoid! Thanks
