 Q's about my 87 325i convertible
I live in Calgary, and I just had the opportunity to pick up an AMAZING 1987 325i convertable. The amazing thing about this car is it has only 73,000 kms on it. I had the out of province inspection done on it and everything is in tip-top shape. Everything is original in it (except for the alpine cd player). My brother has a close friend who picked it up in Toronto and brought it out here and sold it to me as a favour for my brother who is a mortgage broker and worked out a deal. I am wondering just how good of a deal he/we really got.
I paid $10,800 for it. It has not a single scratch or blemish. It was apparently always parked in a heated garage and never winter driven (which is very obvious). It came with the hard top and obviously soft top. I am completely car illiterate but it took my brother's word for it when he told me it was a smokin deal. I have had it for a week now and I am in love with it. I wanted to make a quick buck so I was just looking for a car to buy that I could flip quick since my brother has such good connections. BUT, I don't wanna part with this thing now - I am total beamer lover now. Trust me when i say, this car is in as perfect condition as possible (obviously with only 70kms on it).
I am not going to sell it, so this is not an ad for my car. I just know very little about BMWs. I want to pimp it out a little and then POSSIBLY sell it in the spring (ya I know...I should buy a beater for the winter and sell the BMW in the spring), but I wanna do this baby up first.
I am mostly interested in putting some hot rims on it... 17s most likely. Would fatter wheels/rims look ok? What kind of rims (size, make, etc) would look good? What would the car be worth if I put a little effort into advertising it and after I put on some rims?
Any advice would be great... cuz I feel like a bit of a poser with this car and I know nothing about it.
