I have a 1995 750il. I bought a new climate control panel from a wrecking yard. They sent me the newer panel that BMW started using in 1996. I didn't mind as it looked a lot nicer. It snapped right into place and all the plugs fit perfectly. However, when I started the car, it made the motor stutter under light. throttle. I know that sounds bazar but it stopped and started when I would plug in and unplug the panel. In addition to that, the AC stopped working with the new panel.

I figured the panel was bad but then I saw this listing on e-bay (item number: 220306295305) for a 1996 panel. The listing says that in order to use a 1996+ panel in a 1995 7 you need to "re-code" the car. I e-mailed him to ask how but I never heard back from him. Does anyone know how I would do this?
