Hello everyone, nice to see a forum dedicated to the support of BMW drivers!

I have a 318i (1999) E46 saloon , which has oddly, decided to stop all wiper functions, including washer jets!
I have checked all the fuses and even managed to get a cheap working Wiper motor to test the wiper motor itself, but no success. after cleaning ever fuse and replacing it the washer jets are now working, but still no wipers. I have since discovered that there is a thing called a wiper relay that may be the source of the problem! does anyone know where it is located? as I have no service repair manual for E46 only E36.

I have the same problem on a 2000 E46 318 saloon, mine has the rain sensor system also, the wipers just stop for a while then will simply start of theri own accord some time later.

Did you get your fault fixed?

Thanks WindZ found it OK and cleaned it, just need some rain to check performance

you can try to pour water directly on the windshield and check it's function.
