hi I have a 2002 x5 d sport which I have owned for 4.5 years and it has always been apleasure to drive but recentley when going over ridges in the road all you can hear is bump bump  from front suspension.
I have checked the bearings ball joints and have found no play in any of these,the only thing I have found is slight tearing to front strut rubber mounts and when i got my wife to drive forward and then brake I noticed these mounts seem to move about alot.
does any one know if these mounts should move alot or should they be quite solid
