 xenon light acting funny
BMW 525ix. Periodically the xenon light turn to right a stay in that position. An indicator with a picture of a light with an arrow pointing to each side in the center of the display will show that there is a problem and the green light on the side of the light switch would blink. I brought the car to the dealership and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem. The dealership also told me that the indicater in the middle of the dash would signify and problem with the turn signals. But not in this case. I left the dealership saying that I would see them again but I would like to have a solution for them next time I bring it in. This happens one to two miles after I start driving. Does anyone know whats going on here?
It's a 2007 525ix. There has been one repair done to the car. There is an optical sensor behind the steering wheel that works as the shut off of the turning signals. It was about 3 months after I bought the car (new) that the steering became hard and the blinkers would not shut off. It was intermitent. The dealer said it was a faulty optical semsor and it was replaced. This problem has not reaccured. But I also think that while the right side headlight gets stuck pointing directly to the right the left headlight might also be pointing up. Because when this problem accures I do get oncoming traffic blinking their high beams at me. I will do a seach to to see if this has happened to any other BMW models.
