Z4 steering

Post Z4 steering 

I have a Z4 and when you make a full turn not moving the steering is smooth but on the road it is hard to steer like it is binding, took it to the shop and they tell me that the Z4 steering stiffen up at speed to keep you from over steering. Is this true ?  it is really annoying
